When I Feel Like There’s TOO Much Work In One Week

This morning begins a week of work that feels MUCH harder and jam-packed than I usually allow my schedule.
I have a full schedule today: back-to-back calls all day, and THEN lead a 3-hour intensive workshop tonight.
Then there are two days that are jam-packed with Catalyst Calls for prospects, regular calls for clients, and planning.
Then, I work three FULL days into the weekend leading my clients in a three-day fall retreat, in person, in beautiful Maine.
Then one day to rest, and we jump back into fall program promotion, prospect calls, and client support Monday.
I COULD tell myself that this all feels VERY packed and hard. It’s much more work (and more hours) than I usually put in in an average week. And for an extrovated introvert, it’s WAY more extro-verting than I usually do.
But here are the steps I took to feel GOOD and EXCITED about this crazy work-week:
*First of all, I reminded myself of two things: 1. There is NO WORK I’d rather be doing. 2. This push is FINITE. It’s JUST about the heavy enrollment period of the fall programs starting. Then, in November, I go back to about 30 hours a week 🙂
*I asked for (and am allowing myself to receive) EXTRA support. My assistant is on point to help. My husband is taking up all the extra school-pick-ups and dinners. My friends have been sending me love and support.
*I’m taking extra good care of myself– as someone with an immune-disorder, I KNOW that in times like this I need to factor in an earlier bedtime. More healthy food. Less caffeine and sugar. Time in the sun each day. Meditation/affirmation work. Exercise each day. Breaks! Laughter. Herbs, tea, raw honey, essential oils.
*And THEN, even though next week is busy, too, I cleared just a LITTLE extra space: for a massage. A walk at the beach with a friend. A nap. Just so I can SEE the space coming 🙂
So, it’s OK to go balls-to-the-wall when your schedule calls for it. But there are ways to STILL make it feel good.
Because bottom line is– if you’re suffering in your biz, then money don’t even FEEL so good.
